BELLINGHAM, WA. July 30, 2008 - Madrona Bay Real Estate Investments participates and sponsors team in the 2008 MyoMed Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage.

2008 MyoMed Ragnar Relay Northwest is part of the Ragnar Relay Series, the nations largest series of relay races. Room to Read is the official Non-Profit Organization of the MyoMed Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage. Room to Read provides quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, providing education to girls and establishing computer labs.

Madrona Bay owner Morgan Bartlett participated and sponsored a team including 11 other members, each raising at least $120.00. Team member Teresa Flinn stated that "our team the best dressed team in the race." Flinn went on to say, "We couldn't have done it without Morgan's generosity and all of our team members are thankful for his contribution to our relay team. The downside is we had to let him be a team participant, he's not really a runner but he got voted the most inspirational on the team. He out performed all of our expectations and kept us laughing the whole time."

While Room to Read addresses many educational needs, the MyoMed Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage will focus on one particular Room to Read program, the "Room to Grow" Girls' Scholarships. It takes just USD $2500 to fund one scholarship for 10 years. These scholarships make it possible for girls in developing countries to attend school, gain a lifelong gift of education, and take control of their lives.
